For Defence Counsel
A page-cited answer to one question: does the record actually support what the other side says it does?
CASE 1948 reviews discovery, reports and records and tells you, in writing, which assertions the record supports, which it does not, and which records are missing. Every finding is classed Sufficient, Insufficient or Contradictory and cited to the page.
Two fixed-fee services
Rapid Screen: Record size up to 500 pages. You receive a sourced chronology + 3–5 page sufficiency memo. Turnaround 5 business days. Fixed fee US$1,500.
Standard Review: Record size up to 1,500 pages. You receive a sourced chronology + full claim-by-claim memo + gap list + questions for your retained experts. Turnaround 10 business days. Fixed fee US$3,000.
Appointed or legal-aid counsel
Both fees sit within the CJA limit of $3,000 per provider with prior authorization. Ask for our one-page quote sheet, written to attach to a CJA Form 21, a state funding motion, or a Legal Aid Ontario expert request. No work starts and nothing is charged until your funding is authorized. Itemized time records are provided for your voucher.
Quote sheet and sample memo available on request: case@case1948institute.com
How it works
Conflict check within 1 business day. If there's a conflict or the matter is out of scope, you get a full refund (or, for funded matters, nothing is charged).
Secure upload of the records. Please don't send records by email.
Delivery by the deadline. The clock starts once the records are in (and, for appointed matters, once funding is authorized).
What we do, and what we don't
Non-testifying consulting work product, prepared at your direction.
No testimony, clinical diagnosis or standard-of-care opinion, and no legal advice. Clinical and technical questions are flagged for your retained expert.
Records are deleted or returned on request and at the close of the matter.
